Thinking about summer vacations.....

I had fun doing Easter layouts and cards,  now it is time to move on. I'm thinking about Mother's Day and graduation but before that, I did a few pages for summer visitors to our neck of the woods. I have Gettysburg, Philadelphia (isn't Dave's die cut fabulous?) and Amish country. I also have Lancaster County custom paper (check the gallery at  http://modernmemories.biz/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=542. So if you have friends and relatives visiting and they neeed local area pages for their scrapbooks, bring them on by, we'd love to meet them.

I'm trying something different on the "Pages to Go", I'm not going to pre-cut the mats or adhere the embellishments. I'll just add the mat paper and you can cut to fit your photos. I will also include a picture so you can see what the finished pages could look like, but feel free to put the embellishments anywhere on the layout. That gives you flexibility without having to select and match everything, (this is a time saver).

Egg-ceptional Day

Here it is Easter week. I took my grandsons to an Easter egg hunt on Saturday. They both hated the "Easter Bunny", and wouldn't get near him. Oh, well, no loss,  Auston, the 3 year old, loved the little train ride and we had a good time.

Today is a big day for us, my second grandson, Bryce, is turning 1 year old today. It is so hard to believe a year has passed. I did finish an album for him and have it in the store, so if you are around, stop by, I will gladly show it to you. I am going to make a slide show movie and put it on the web, hopefully next week. I'm also sent it out to a professional printer to turn into a hard bound book, that I am going to give his parents. I should receive that in a few days, so if you are interested, come by and I can show you that also. I should offer a class on how to do that because it took me a little bit of time to figure it out. If you are interested in something like that, give your name to Dave, and he will start a class list and if I get 5 people I will offer the class. The cost will be comparable to a regular 2 hour class.  I see in the magazines that digital scrapbooking is picking up the pace, and I would love to teach it, so again if you are interested in taking digital classes, let Dave know and he will start a class list. I love paper and digital scrapooking. Digital just opens up additional possibilities. I will always do paper scrapbooking because I love the embellishments, and textures they provide.

Best Friends

I came across this picture of my Mom and Aunt and knew it would make a great one page layout. I don't know what they are laughing at but it looks like they are having great fun. I used Bazzill cardstock, and Creative Imagination stickers. I printed the picture on my color printer, added the stickers and was done in apx 15 minutes. (Again, the scanned image doesn't do it justice. You have to see it.)

I also made this Baby layout. This is my second grandson. He will be 1 year old this month. Boy, does time fly. I'm finishing up his first year album, and it is twice the size of his older brother, Auston's. I justify that by saying there are more pictures of  Bryce because there are pictures of him and his brother, where Auston's album - they were all of him. I used Bazill paper, blue swirl 12x12 paper, yellow brads, and vellum quote - Dream. We have all of them in stock, so if you want to "scraplift" this design, come by and pick up  what you need.

Mother's Day Pages - Almost Done

moThis past Saturday while I was in the store, I intended to create some Easter layouts. (trying to get ahead of the game if that is possible), but during my tour through the paper I came across this embosssed flower paper that I forgot we had. I ordered it originally because I loved the look and texture but never got around to creating a layout with it, so I abandoned my idea of doing Easter and decided to do a Mother's Day layout. This layout is good for any female themed pages. The scanned images below do not do the vellum and embossed paper justice. You have to see it and run your finger over the embossed flowers to appreciate them. And the colors are not as vivid when scanned. Anyway, all I need now is a good picture of Mom and perhaps of her and my sisters. We'll see.

So stop by, and pick up this quick 2 page layout, just add your photos or give as a gift for someone else's albumn. I'm back thinking about Easter layouts, so check back to see what I come up with.

New Layouts from New Products

Here it is the third week in February, and we made it thru our first big snow storm. Thanks to all you who came to see us and stock up on supplies when you were able to get out. We enjoyed hearing what you are working on.

I've created a 2-page layout with some new die cuts from quick Cropper Cuts. This is my Grandma and the die cuts I used were perfect because I can remember her always wearing that apron. And when I saw the rocker, it is like the one she had in her living room. In fact, my mom has it in her living room now. The die cuts were perfect for helping me create a page about her. I want to add some dates to the layout when I get them.

I'm also thinking about spring. I'm hoping it is right around the corner, anyway in my mind it is. I've created a few layouts that can be used anytime but the colors make me think of spring and girls. They both have some "bling".It is hard to see from the scanned pictures.

This one is a very pretty pink vellum. You have to see them  The scans don't do them justice.

These layouts are quick, just add pictures then put them in your scrapbook. I like using other people's design ideas also, it gets me out of a rut of always doing the same thing, page-after-page-after-page. So take a mental break on design and come pick up a few pages almost done. My Christmas and Thanksgiving pages when sold will not be recreated. I need to move on and create pages for Easter, Mother and Father's Day. I have some ideas brewing for the upcoming holidays.

We have some new products come in this week. I can't show all of them but here is just two of the new papers. It is hard to tell from the small pictures but the paper is just beautiful. The one on the left is part of the Far East collection and the one on the right has sparkles and just makes you smile because it looks like anything you put on the page would be fun. Trust me, you have to see them to know what I mean.

We also received chipboard letters, new brads and cute embellishments. Come by and pick them up before you go to your next crop.

Did you check out the card class for Feb? Not only are we making the 6 cards but also a "sweet" candy bar wrapper. I wanted to add something different. I'm having problems keeping the candy bar wrappers on the  candy bars. Dave keeps eating them.

Oh well, don't forget all Christmas themed items are 50% off until 31 Jan. There still is time to scap those Christmas pictures, and save at the same time.

I cannot believe it is the middle of January alreeady. Where does the time go? Thanks to everyone who purchased the Dec Pages To Go. We kept running out, and remaking them.
